DexProtector 16.1.43
This release extends threat detection across Android and iOS, and improves precision on specific device families.
Android:
- Improved sideloading, emulator and root detection
- Added a flag for custom handling of ADB detection through the DexProtector Runtime Engine API
- Updated the revoked certificate database used for key attestation
iOS:
- Improved jailbreak and image injection detection
- Enforced a self-protective response to Developer Mode detection on iOS 16 when Paranoid Mode is enabled
- Extended Asset Encryption support to files loaded by app extensions
- Improved String Encryption compatibility and resolved UI Protection conflicts with system alerts
Coverage and precision
Android spans thousands of device models and vendor-specific system builds. A detection mechanism that works reliably across most devices can still behave differently on a particular manufacturer’s implementation. This release refines the detection of suspicious services associated with rooted devices, improving accuracy on selected Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco handsets while maintaining protection against rooted environments.
Effective detection depends on both coverage and precision. Checks that are too broad can block legitimate users; checks that are too narrow can miss real threats. Getting this balance right requires continuous testing across an evolving device ecosystem. This release strengthens sideloading and emulator detection, improves jailbreak detection on iOS 15 and iOS 16, and refines existing checks based on field data.
